hello there!

We’re Corey and Pam Allan

Who exactly are we?

Corey is a PhD level Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience in the marriage and sex therapy field. Pam is woman who speaks her mind and doesn’t allow Corey to stay in the Academic/Theory clouds on the podcast.

We are on a 100 year mission.

Working to reframe the most common myths and issues every couple faces in life and marriage.

Our work aims to hit the sweet spot between knowledge and action. We give you the foundational information you need AND follow it up with conversations and actions YOU can take up right away.

Our message is a profoundly simple approach, yet it is extremely difficult to pull off. But it is well worth the effort and sacrifice.

So, what exactly is this 100 year mission? We are working to impact one marriage at a time – because that marriage could produce kids who get married, who have kids who get married, and on it goes. That one marriage could create a legacy that is felt 100 years from now!

That’s our mission! And that one marriage is yours!

Marriage Can Be Hard, Don’t Go It Alone

what we believe in

We are rooted in some core beliefs and values:

1. We believe marriage is designed to help you grow up.

Happily ever after is not the point of marriage. Marriage is designed as a “crucible” that creates a container for our growth better than any other relationship ever could.

We also view relationships as a volunteer sport – and with the right guidance, everyone has the capacity to create the relationship, and life. of their dreams.

2. Having a fantastic marriage is a learned skill!

Society and even religious teachings can sends us the message that if we’re truly in love, things will just happen “naturally.” You won’t have to work on your relationship and things will flow smoothly right from the start.

We couldn’t disagree more.

We believe that a passionate marriage and a sizzling hot sex life aren’t just going to fall into your lap; you have to learn how to create them.

Our message exists to equip you with the practical, actionable tools you need to create an extraordinary marriage. The stuff that you were never given the opportunity to learn ever before.

3. We believe in being proactive.

Most of us don’t work on our relationships, or our sex lives, until things have gotten really bad. Research continues to show that many couples don’t reach out for help until 6 years after the “problem” appeared in their relationship. 6 Years!!!

Then one spouse often threatens divorce, so we start frantically Googling therapists in our area, trying to find someone who can see us right away.

As a therapist and relationship coach I can and do offer help for couples in this stage –  but a reactionary approach is just that, reactionary.

We want to be proactively working to keep our relationships happy and joyful in order to prevent major challenges from coming up in the first place.

It’s a lot more fun to focus on thriving than just surviving.

4. We want to live in community with others honestly and with vulnerability.

On our podcast we share our raw, unfiltered selves – as individuals and as a married couple – with our community.

You’ll hear our behind the scenes stories about triumphs, and failures.

We do this because we know that hearing these kinds of stories will help you know you’re not alone.

5. We want to grow deeper Spiritually.

We are followers of Christ and believe that a vibrant and alive Christian marriage is vital to the world and God’s Kingdom.

While this is not a show or site about our theology, much of our beliefs and perspectives are shaped by a relationship with Christ and other believers so this will come out in some of our conversations.

There have been multiple voices who have helped make our show what it is today.

Shannon Ethridge (Episodes #107 – #311)

Shannon is a million-copy best-selling author, international speaker, certified life coach, and advocate for healthy sexuality with a master’s degree in counseling/human relations from Liberty University. She seeks to:

  • Challenge adults and teens to embrace a life of sexual integrity,
  • Encourage married couples in their pursuit of sexual and emotional fulfillment,
  • Counsel women who have looked for love in all the wrong places and
  • Equip parents to instill sexual values in children at an early age.

Her passion for healthy sexuality actually began in Mortuary College. Her first career choice, becoming a mortician, led her to work on dead bodies. Many she embalmed were young people who had died from AIDS or committed suicide as a result of an HIV positive diagnosis.

Because of her own promiscuous teenage years, she knew it was a miracle that she was standing over the embalming table rather than laying on top of it.

These experiences inspired her to begin speaking boldly and bluntly to teen, college-age, and adult audiences about the benefits of sexual integrity. She has taught and counseled thousands of young singles and married couples over two decades.

She is the author of 22 books, including the best-selling Every Woman’s Battle series, the 5-book Completely His series, The Sexually Confident Wife, The Fantasy Fallacy: Exposing the Deeper Meaning Behind Sexual Thoughts, and The Passion Principles: Celebrating Sexual Freedom in Marriage.

Gina Parris (Episodes #1 – #100)

Gina was part of the launch and building the foundation to what our podcast has become today.
